Prayer for a Wayward Child
Few things ache like watching a child wander far. This is a prayer for a prodigal, trusting the God who runs to meet those far off.
Loving Father, my heart breaks for my child who has wandered from the path. You know exactly where they are, even when I do not. Watch over them and keep them from harm. Soften their heart, and let Your kindness draw them back. Where I have failed, forgive me, and heal what is broken between us. Help me to love them without giving up, to pray without ceasing, and to trust You with what I cannot control. Like the father who ran to his returning son, run to meet my child, and bring them home. Amen.
