Prayer for a Broken Heart
Heartbreak has a weight all its own. This is a prayer for a wounded heart, asking the God who is near to the brokenhearted to bind up what is broken.
Tender God, my heart is broken and the pain runs deep. You have promised to be near to the brokenhearted, and I need that nearness now. Gather up the pieces I cannot hold together. Comfort me in the ache, and stay with me on the days the sorrow returns. Heal this wound in Your own gentle time, and do not let bitterness take root where the hurt has been. Teach me to trust again, and remind me that I am still loved, still held, still Yours. Bind up my heart, and make me whole. Amen.
