Prayer for a Funeral
As we say goodbye to someone we love, this is a prayer for a funeral, for comfort in grief and the hope that death is not the end.
Eternal God, we gather to remember and to grieve one we have loved and lost. Comfort every heart here that is heavy with sorrow. Thank You for the gift of their life, for the memories we carry, and for the love that death cannot erase. In our tears, give us hope, the hope that in You, life does not truly end. Hold those who feel this loss most deeply. Carry us through the days ahead, and let Your peace, which passes understanding, guard our hearts. We entrust our loved one, and ourselves, into Your everlasting arms. Amen.
