Prayer for Someone in the Hospital
Hospital days are long and frightening. This is a prayer for a loved one who is unwell, and for the peace of everyone waiting and watching.
Merciful God, I lift up my loved one lying in this hospital bed. You are with them in this room, closer than any nurse or machine. Bring healing to their body and calm to their spirit. Ease their pain, and let them rest. Give skill and compassion to the doctors and nurses who care for them, and steady the hearts of all of us who wait and worry. Where I feel helpless, remind me that You are able. Watch over every hour of the night, and let Your peace fill this place. In Your hands I place them. Amen.
